“There is more to this world than what meets the eye,” shared Dr. Janine Ambrose, a Reiki Master and Life Coach who is based in Waterloo, Iowa.
Doctor Janine Ambrose is a strong advocate for the practice of Reiki and Regression Therapy which is slowly being adopted in the United States. She has a Ph.D. in Philosophy and Therapeutic Counseling from the Open University of Sri Lanka. She has also studied Alternative Therapies and Medicines in depth and graduated with honors in Clairvoyance, Spiritual Healing, and Inspirational Speaking and Music.
“Reiki originated in Japan two thousand years ago when the first Reiki master mediated on a mountain, much like Prophet Moses did,” added Janine. “He was blessed with symbols which helped him heal himself and others suffering from all sorts of ailments. Even though the practice is widely accepted in the far East, it took a good two millennia for Reiki to make a mark in America.”
Dr. Ambrose discovered early on in her life that she was gifted. “I cannot remember my childhood because I wasn’t really in my body,” she explained. “My dad was a farmer. My family was quite well-off. My brother often talks about our childhood but I don’t remember any of that.”
Childhood Trauma
Janine experienced a traumatic childhood. Her grandmother lived a couple houses down and absolutely doted on her brother. “She loved boys,” shared Janine. “She would offer my brother milk and toast and not offer me anything. My brother would pass on a portion of his snacks to me.”
She internalized the neglect which caused her to gain weight over time.
“I did not know how to cope with my feelings. When I felt overwhelmed, I would head off to the barn and have a good cry… At around the age of 8, I first started to see angels. I was raised Catholic so I imagined them to look like the angels depicted in artwork. The incident strengthened my connection with the other side and gave me the power to experience premonitions. Spirits can come to us in many forms, Orbs, specks of light and even smells. My friend, who is a Sufi from Africa, sees spirits as energies in human shapes.”
The kids from her school would seek her advice any time they faced some sort of dilemma. “Kids from my grade and even older children I did not know would come over and ask me to guide them,” shared Janine. “I had, by then, developed an innate intuition. The kids trusted my advice and felt safe around me.”
As time went on, Janine turned to meditation which further helped her connect to her inner feelings. “When I meditate, I see things.”
When lecturing at conferences people would ask her if she received her knowledge from different books. To them, she would explain that meditation helps center herself and receive messages.
As an adult, she went to Iowa City for a conference and met a yogi by the name of Dr. Marilyn Rossner. Yogi Rossner is the Founder/President at The International Institute of Integral Human Sciences (IIIHS). She has been speaking at conferences for 41 years. She also serves on the World Health Organization and travels the world, bringing healing to people all over. Dr. Rossner also helped bring down the wall in Russia.
“I’ve known her for over thirty years,” smiled Janine. “Dr. Rossner has a strong following everywhere, especially in Africa where she spends a lot of time with the homeless children.
Every time I feel down or confused, she calls me immediately. She knows how I feel even if I don’t tell her anything. She is as non-judgmental as they come… And although she is Jewish, she was contacted by Jesus when she was young,” smiled Janine. “Jesus told her she would never have children. Instead, she would serve her entire life healing others.”
The first time she meditated with Dr. Rossner, Janine felt a tingling all over following which her body went completely numb.
“I felt crippled!” she exclaimed. “My body took a paraplegic form. My arms and legs were sort of twisted as I sat motionless for a good twenty minutes. It would’ve been impossible to sit in that position for that long. My sister was with me and the sight of me losing complete control of my body terrified her. It turned out I had taken the spirit of a paraplegic child who had died in a fire. She entered my body in order to move on to the next dimension.”
Months later, Janine met Dr. Rossner again at a healing conference held at Carlton College, Minnesota.
“While meditating, I my grandmother come to me asking to forgive her…. A few minutes later, Dr. Rossner approached me and told me that my grandmother was so happy to know that I had forgiven her. I was overcome by emotions and dissolved into tears.”
Meeting Dr. Patch Adams
At the age of 35, Dr. Ambrose started immersing herself in learning Reiki from a master. As her knowledge grew, she decided to fly to Canada to meet Dr. Patch Adams.
“He was a genius!” gushed Janine. “His nonprofit hospital is situated on a hundred-acre land. Doctors and nurses volunteer at the facility. Dr. Adams thinks outside the box. Although he allows the use of drugs to treat patients at his hospital, he does so within limits. For instance, he allows prescriptions to alleviate initial symptoms following which he relies heavily on counseling psychology in order to design treatment options.”
Dr. Patch Adams frequently flies to Russia and works with kids. He has no government affiliation, which is the reason why he is able to independently offer treatment.
“People give him money out of their free will so he can continue providing the sort of treatment they find truly helpful,” shared Janine. “People believe in his healing power. He can figure out a problem just by looking at pictures in a patient’s photo album while staying in their home for a few days. Dr. Adams had had a near-death experience as a teenager when he attempted suicide. That changed his entire outlook on life…”
Janine explained her first meeting with Dr. Adams at a conference in Canada.
“He’s about 6-foot-three. He just started taking his clothes off until he was wearing nothing but shorts,” laughed Janine. “Everyone looked nervous. You know, he’s got these long skinny legs… Then, he wore a funny costume complete with a big fish hat on top of his head and set about making everyone laugh! That allowed everyone to sort of break the ice and let their guard down.”
Janine started receiving official training in Reiki from Barbara Ireson.
“She taught me that by the age of 7, people are generally connected with their feelings and their body. If someone is experiencing extreme nervousness, that usually means that they are not centered in their body. Through different therapies I help these people become more aware of their spirit and center them through the use of vibrations.”
Dr. Ambrose is also on the cutting-edge of research, devoting countless hours to studying sound healing with frequencies. She is a Life Coach, Reiki Master, Regression Therapist and an instructor of metaphysics. She is also an Ordained Minister from the Sanctuary of the Beloved, Inc. located in New York.
Janine is a published author, having written titles such as “The Secret Mountain” and “Achieving Self Mastery.” Her books are available for purchase on Amazon and Kindle. She also has two CD’s out titled “Eclipse” and “Sinus Clearing,” respectively. The busy woman also produces and hosts a television talk show called “Journey with Janine” which has been airing on Public Access Television for the last fourteen years. She has had the opportunity to interview alternative everything and healers from all over the world on her show.
Janine can pick up vibes in person or over the phone. “I do not necessarily have to meet a patient. I have a very strong intuition. If you were to mention someone’s name, I can tell you what they look like and their emotional state … whether they are drinkers or abusers… tame or wild.”
Janine often resorts to doodling when she’s at a meeting. That is one of the first things I noticed about her when I met her initially.
“I have trouble focusing unless I doodle on paper. I see auras all around me. It is distracting to listen when in an altered state. That said, I’ve never really had a bad experience with the spirits that visit me.”
Finding Peace
Many people do not understand her when she talks about her spiritual experience. Janine does not take that to heart.
“The world is full of people who have normal, defined roles. They are mothers, spiritual leaders, doctors, and teachers – life paths that are considered normal and acceptable. They are all treading on paths they’ve chosen for themselves. I realize that when I talk about my experiences, people tend to think I’m crazy. I expect them to misunderstand me… But those who support me defend me wholeheartedly. At the very least, they view me as gifted.”
I asked her if she tends to psycho-analyze whoever she meets. “No, I don’t think that is necessary. I treat people the way anyone would. The only time my intuition gets to work is when my instincts tell me to be cautious or their spirit guide directs me.”
Janine is selective about who she surrounds herself with because she does not want to invite negativity from others. Her family and friends love her positive spirit and her desire to help others. Some spiritual leaders instill fear in their followers in order to get them to comply and, eventually, support them monetarily. Not Janine. She likes to empower people by guiding them to change their thoughts, word and actions.
“Everyone has an energy field,” she shared. “When we are in someone’s energy field for more than a half hour, we change people’s vibration. It is very much like touching a light and it gets brighter… An alcoholic came to me a while back. I performed Reiki therapy on him. Two years later, he remains sober… A female client visited my office to discuss her fear of water. During a regression therapy session, she remembered being eaten by a shark in a past life. The woman did not have a fear of water after that. When counseling another client Janine saw that she was a dolphin in a past life. She said she has always had dreams about being a dolphin swimming with dolphins… While I was performing regression therapy on a young girl of 12 today, she had a vision that she was a yellow baby bird falling from a tree and died. In her past life she was a bird.”
After every session, Janine replenishes her body with water in order to flush out the negativity she might absorb during the meeting. Water heals her.
“Every session has an energetic effect on my body, sometimes I burn Karma from their past but I enjoy helping others. In our society, people automatically resort to pills in order to correct a problem. Depending solely on medication can lead to a decline in health, which is counter-productive. I believe they can benefit from alternative medicine and give reiki and regression therapy a try. There are no side effects. I understand that situations such as cancer require the use of drugs, although I have healed cancer patients. Cancer grows in an acidic body, which means that boosting alkalinity (oxygen) can actually cure cancer. Adopting a diet that focuses on alkaline foods and putting a few drops of 35% hydrogen peroxide in juice or water can help patients do exactly that. Chemotherapy, by itself, is terrible for the body.”

It’s not a route a I would go. However, I’m so glad there are multiple options available like this to heal each and every person out there.

True. Many people have reservations about this form of treatment as it hasn’t been documented enough. However, awareness about reiki and regression therapy is slowly increasing. Viewing the concepts as some form of supplemental therapy might be deemed useful by some. Thank you for your comment.
